Board Meeting Information
The Board of Education generally meets on the first and the third Tuesday of the month unless otherwise noted on the 2020 Board Meeting Calendar and the public is invited and encouraged to attend all Board Meetings.

Meetings are currently taking place in the Multi Purpose Hall at Central Middle School which is located at 4795 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside, 92506, unless otherwise noted. All meetings will begin at 4:00 p.m. and the Board will immediately adjourn to Closed Session after any Public Input has been heard. Board meetings will then reconvene in Open Session at 5:30 p.m. 

Upon request, this agenda will be made available in appropriate alternative formats to persons with disabilities, as required by Section 202 of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Any person with a disability who requires a modification of accommodation in order to participate in a meeting should direct such request to the District Superintendent at 788-7131 at least 48 hours before the meeting, if possible. 

As required by Government Code 54957.5, agenda materials can be reviewed by the public at the District’s administrative offices located at 3380 Fourteenth Street, Riverside, California. Agendas may also be viewed online from the Riverside Unified School District website under the Board of Education tab.  

The Board of Education welcomes public comment and offers an opportunity to speak on any item within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Board, whether such item is on the agenda or not. “Request to Address the Board of Education” cards are available at the table in the back of the Board Room for anyone who wishes to address the Board.

If you wish to address the Board of Education, please indicate your desire to do so on a provided card and place it in the proper receptacle at the rear of the Board Room. For topics that are on the agenda, you will have an opportunity to speak prior to the Board’s deliberation on that item. Each speaker will be allowed 3 timed minutes, and there will be a maximum of 20 minutes per topic when multiple speakers with to address the Board on the same subject.

Members of the public can also speak to any item that is not on the agenda by noting such request on a “Request to Address the Board of Education” card and being called upon during the “Public Input” portion of the meeting’s agenda. Each speaker will be allowed 3 timed minutes, and there will be a maximum of 20 minutes per topic when multiple speakers with to address the Board on the same subject.

Pursuant to Section 54954.2 of the Government Code, no action or discussion shall be undertaken on any item not appearing on the posted agenda, except that members of the Board or staff may briefly respond to statements made or questions posed by persons exercising their public testimony rights. Discussion of items brought forward that are not on the agenda shall be considered for future agendas by the Board President and Superintendent.

Agendas are posted no later than the Friday prior to a Tuesday meeting. Once the Board of Education has adopted the minutes of a meeting, those minutes will be embedded within the agendas.
